Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented, reliable HVAC Trim-Out & Start-Up Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the final stages of HVAC installations—transitioning systems from rough-in to fully operational, high-efficiency equipment. You will install finish components, commission systems, verify safety and operational performance, and perform initial customer walk-throughs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Trim-Out & Finish Work: Install diffusers, grilles, registers and thermostats (including smart thermostats) for residential/light commercial systems.
  • Equipment Assembly & Connection: Set and trim out condensers
  • System Commissioning & Start-Up: Perform initial system start-up according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Diagnostics & Testing: Check electrical wiring/voltages, verify airflow, perform nitrogen pressure tests, pull vacuum/evacuate lines to proper micron levels, and charge refrigerants (R-410A / R-454B / R-32).
  • Quality & Safety Assurance: Inspect installations to ensure compliance with local building codes, EPA regulations, and company quality standards.
  • Customer Interaction: Perform initial system demonstration for customers/homeowners, explain thermostat controls, and answer basic operational questions.
  • Documentation: Complete digital start-up checklists, record pressure/temperature/electrical readings, and document completed jobs via company software.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with digital gauges, micron gauges, multimeter troubleshooting, and refrigerant handling.
  • Drivers License: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, with the ability to drive a trailer.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50–100 lbs, work in attics/crawlspaces/ladders, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Tools: Basic hand tools and meters (specialized/power tools provided by company if applicable).
