- UT Health Jacksonville features 33 operational beds, an ICU, a 24-hour ED designated as a Level IV trauma center, a maternity unit, advanced diagnostic technology, surgical suites, cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, wound healing center, and a UT Health East Texas Olympic Center fitness and rehabilitation facility.
Responsibilities and daily tasks will support surgical procedures and ensure sterile field integrity.
Responsibilities- Functions as primary scrub technologist for a variety of routine and complex procedures, while consistently demonstrating clinical skills with confidence and competence.
- Anticipates the needs of the surgical team based on knowledge of human anatomy and pathophysiology and how they relate to the surgical patient and procedure.
- Individual is responsible for ensuring, along with other surgical team members, that they maintain the sterile field, applying aseptic technique principles to ensure a safe, aseptic, and cost-effective environment for all patients.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program and hold current certification with one of the following:
The National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting, the National Center for Competency Testing or another surgical technologist certification program approved by the Texas Department of State Health Service. - BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
Job Requirements
- Technical/Vocational degree.
- Two years of operating room experience.
