ITSAP ABAP Consultant; S​/HANA

Position: IT004 SAP ABAP Consultant (S/4HANA)
Role purpose

Develop and support SAP S/4

HANA ABAP solutions that run day-to-day operations in a solar module plant

Key responsibilities (what ABAP does in this industry)

- Deliver RICEFW objects that support the solar manufacturing value chain (MM–PP–QM–SD–FI), including custom validations, reports, interfaces, and forms that keep plant operations stable.
- Build “plant-critical” enhancements for execution speed and control: auto-postings, background jobs, monitoring dashboards, exception reprocessing, and audit logs for traceability-sensitive steps.
- Own technical design, estimation, development, unit testing, code reviews, and defect fixing; coordinate transports and production deployments with minimal downtime.
- Implement hard controls so dispatch cannot happen without correct serial/batch capture: block PGI/billing when serials/batches are missing, duplicated, incorrect status, or not linked to the right production/order context.
- Develop genealogy utilities (forward/backward trace): finished module serial → customer invoice/delivery/site → production order/work center/shift → consumed component batches (as captured) to support warranty claims and field investigations.
- Build interfaces so SAP is the planning/financial system-of-record and MES is the execution system-of-record (as per agreed design):
- Send to MES: production order header/operations, BOM/components (or key component lists), routing steps, work center/resource info, and quality/trace requirements used at scan points.
- Receive from MES: operation confirmations, good/scrap quantities with reason codes, rework loops, component consumption/backflush details, FG/SFG receipt triggers, and serial/batch capture results.
- Develop reliable interface controls: retries/reprocessing, idempotency, error queues, monitoring reports, and reconciliation programs (SAP vs MES quantities, confirmations, and traceability gaps).
- Create real-time operational reports used by production and dispatch teams: daily production vs plan, yield/scrap by line/shift, WIP aging, pending confirmations, pending PGI due to missing serials, and shipment readiness.
- Develop mass tools for controlled corrections (only with approvals): serial/batch reconciliation, stuck documents, failed postings, and interface backlogs—keeping the line running without compromising auditability.

Required skills & experience

- Strong ABAP on S/4

HANA experience (enhancements, interfaces, forms, reports) with performance-aware development for high-volume transactions.
- Hands-on experience in manufacturing execution scenarios involving MM/PP/QM/SD integration, especially where shopfloor speed and data accuracy are both critical.
- Proven delivery of serial/batch traceability controls and trace reports used for warranty, audit, and customer escalations.
- Ability to work with MES/automation/IT teams and translate shopfloor needs into stable SAP developments.
