Position: Head / Lead - Business Rule Engine
Key Responsibilities

1. BRE Strategy & Enterprise Implementation
Define and drive the enterprise-wide vision and strategy for the Business Rule Engine across the credit lifecycle.
Provide leadership for the design, implementation, and continuous evolution of BRE frameworks across multiple loan products (CV, Car, Tractor, CE, MSME, LAP, etc.).
Establish scalable, modular, and future-ready rule engine architectures aligned with organizational growth and digital transformation goals.
Ensure translation of credit policies, risk appetite, and business objectives into robust and maintainable rule frameworks.
2. Policy Translation, Governance & Automation
Oversee the translation of credit risk policies into standardized, automated decisioning frameworks within the BRE.
Ensure alignment of BRE rules with credit principles, property valuation norms, regulatory requirements, and legal due diligence standards.
Drive governance mechanisms for rule changes, ensuring consistency, auditability, and adherence to internal and external guidelines.
Partner with Credit Policy leadership to incorporate regulatory updates and evolving business strategies into automated workflows.
3. Testing, Validation & Quality Oversight
Establish enterprise testing frameworks for BRE, including UAT, regression testing, and validation protocols.
Ensure high standards of accuracy, consistency, and reliability in automated decision-making.
Drive performance monitoring and optimization of rules to enhance efficiency, turnaround time (TAT), and compliance adherence.
Institute strong quality assurance practices and continuous improvement cycles.
4. Data, Technology & Platform Integration
Provide strategic direction for integration of BRE with data ecosystems, core lending systems, and digital platforms.
Oversee data architecture, including data sourcing, mapping, transformation, and validation standards for decisioning.
Ensure seamless API-led integrations enabling real-time and scalable decision-making.
Collaborate with Technology and Data Engineering leadership to enable advanced analytics, AI/ML integrations, and rule optimization.
5. Compliance, Risk & Governance
Ensure enterprise-wide compliance with RBI guidelines and internal credit risk frameworks through BRE controls.
Institutionalize governance processes for documentation, audit trails, and regulatory reporting.
Strengthen fraud prevention mechanisms and ensure ethical, responsible lending practices through automated controls.
Act as a custodian of risk governance within automated decision systems.
6. Leadership & Stakeholder Management
Lead cross-functional collaboration with Product, Risk, Technology, Operations, and Business teams to drive BRE adoption and effectiveness.
Build and mentor high-performing BRE and automation teams, fostering innovation and accountability.
Act as an organization-wide subject matter expert on credit automation and decisioning frameworks.
Drive training, change management, and stakeholder alignment to maximize BRE utilization and impact.
