Job Description & How to Apply Below
Designed for reliability and scalability, Scrapingdog enables organizations to avoid the overhead of building and maintaining their own scraping infrastructure. The product emphasizes predictable performance, simple integration, and robust support for diverse data use cases.
Role Description We are looking for a Technical Content Creator who can bridge the gap between Scrapingdog's APIs and the developer community. You will not be writing marketing fluff — you will be writing tutorials, building code examples, and becoming a credible voice in developer communities around web scraping and data extraction.
This role sits at the intersection of engineering and content. If you are equally comfortable writing a Python/nodejs script and a 2,000-word tutorial explaining it, this is for you.
What You Will Do
Content Creation
- Write 3–4 in-depth technical tutorials per month targeting high-intent developer keywords
- Build working code examples in Python and Node.js using Scrapingdog APIs
- Create Git Hub repos with sample projects that developers can fork and use directly
- Repurpose tutorials into shorter posts for dev.to, Hashnode, and Medium
- Work closely with our SEO team to align content with the keyword strategy.
Community Presence
- Actively participate in Reddit communities like r/webscraping, r/Python, r/learnprogramming
- Engage on Hacker News, Stack Overflow, and developer Discord servers
- Post genuinely helpful answers and naturally introduce Scrapingdog where relevant
- Build a recognisable presence as a scraping/data extraction expert
Video & Visual Content
- Create short You Tube walkthroughs demonstrating Scrapingdog use cases
- Produce short-form videos (Linked In, Twitter/X) showing API features in action
- Design simple diagrams or visual explainers for complex scraping concepts
Qualifications
- Strong technical writing skills, with the ability to explain APIs, web scraping concepts, and code examples clearly and accurately.
- Basic programming familiarity (e.g., JavaScript, Python, or similar) to read and write simple code snippets and reproduce integration steps.
- Ability to research independently, structure content logically, and tailor explanations for developer and data-focused audiences.
- Attention to detail in grammar, formatting, and technical accuracy, with openness to feedback and iterative editing.
- Comfort collaborating with engineering and product teams, asking clarifying questions, and translating technical inputs into user-friendly content.
- Interest in web scraping, APIs, data engineering, or developer tools; prior projects, blogs, or Git Hub contributions are a plus.
- Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Technical Communication, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
