Linux Server Administrator

We are looking for a  Linux Server Administrator with 1–3 years of hands-on experience  to manage, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot Linux-based infrastructure and production servers.
The ideal candidate should have a strong foundation in  Ubuntu/Linux system administration , networking, security, troubleshooting, and server management. Familiarity with  Docker and Kubernetes  is expected, but the primary focus of this role will be Linux server administration and infrastructure operations.

Key Responsibilities  Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot  Ubuntu/Linux servers .
Perform day-to-day Linux system administration, including user management, permissions, processes, services, packages, storage, and system resources.
Monitor server health, CPU, memory, disk usage, network activity, and system performance.
Troubleshoot Linux server, networking, storage, and application-related issues.
Manage  SSH, firewalls, users, groups, permissions, sudo access, and basic Linux security hardening .
Configure and maintain  Nginx and Apache  web servers and reverse proxy configurations.
Manage DNS, TCP/IP, ports, routing, and other basic networking components.
Deploy and manage  Docker containers , images, volumes, networks, and containerized applications.
Perform basic  Kubernetes administration and troubleshooting , including pods, deployments, services, name spaces, logs, and resource management.
Monitor and analyze system and application logs to identify and resolve issues.
Manage server backups, storage, disk space, and basic disaster recovery procedures.
Automate repetitive administrative tasks using  Bash scripting ; basic Python knowledge is a plus.
Assist development and Dev Ops teams with server, deployment, and infrastructure-related issues.
Follow established security, backup, monitoring, and maintenance procedures.
Maintain documentation for server configurations, troubleshooting procedures, and standard operating procedures.
Participate in production support and resolve infrastructure issues within defined timelines.
Required Skills   1–3 years of hands-on experience in Linux Server Administration .
Strong working knowledge of  Ubuntu Linux .
Good understanding of Linux:
Users, groups, permissions, and sudo
Processes and services
Package management
File systems and disk management
System logs
SSH
Cron/systemd
Good understanding of  Linux networking , including TCP/IP, DNS, ports, routing, and firewalls.
Hands-on experience with  Docker  and basic container management.
Basic to good understanding of  Kubernetes  concepts and troubleshooting.

Experience with  Nginx or Apache .
Ability to troubleshoot server and application issues using Linux command-line tools.
Basic  Bash scripting  and automation skills.
Familiarity with monitoring tools such as  Prometheus, Grafana, Zabbix, Nagios, or similar .
Basic understanding of  Git  and deployment/CI/CD processes.

Experience with backup management, storage, and log analysis.
Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Preferred Skills  Experience managing Linux servers in a production environment.
Familiarity with  docker / containerd  and Linux container runtimes.
Knowledge of centralized logging tools such as  Loki, ELK/Elastic Stack , or similar.
Understanding of  SSL/TLS certificates  and HTTPS configuration.
Basic understanding of load balancing and reverse proxy concepts.
Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as VMware, Proxmox, or KVM.
Basic knowledge of Linux performance troubleshooting and optimization.

What We Are Looking For  Strong hands-on Linux troubleshooting ability.
Someone comfortable working from the  Linux command line .
Ability to investigate problems independently rather than relying solely on documentation.
Willingness to learn and work with Docker, Kubernetes, monitoring, and automation tools.
Good attention to detail, especially when making changes to production systems.
Ability to work effectively with developers and other infrastructure team members.
