Job Description

Monitor and oversee  melting, molding, core making, pouring, fettling, and heat treatment processes.
Ensure production targets are met as per shift schedules.
Coordinate with shift teams for  smooth operations  and minimize downtime.
Assign duties and supervise foundry workers (skilled and unskilled).
Ensure proper charge calculation and metal composition during melting.
Maintain process parameters for quality casting (e.g., temperature, time, materials).
Take corrective actions in case of process deviations or equipment malfunction. Maintain discipline, attendance, and shift rosters.
Train workers in safe and efficient foundry practices.
Coordinate with planning department for daily/weekly production schedules.
Update shift-wise production logs and reports.
Track material consumption, scrap generation, and recovery rates.
Ensure proper usage and routine maintenance of induction furnaces, molding machines, sand mixers, ladles, etc.
Coordinate with maintenance for breakdowns and preventive maintenance.
Monitor availability and usage of raw materials, molding sand, cores, flux, alloys, and consumables.
Coordinate with stores and purchase for timely material availability.
