Fabric Manager oversees the entire textile lifecycle, from sourcing and supplier negotiations to quality control and production scheduling, ensuring high-quality materials are procured within budget and on time.
Core Responsibilities Sourcing & Development:
Selecting textile mills and sourcing fabrics (woven, knit, specialty) based on design requirements.
Costing & Negotiation:
Negotiating prices, MOQs, and lead times while managing inventory and waste.
Quality Assurance (QA):
Monitoring fabric quality through lab testing (e.g., colorfastness, GSM) and inspections.
Production Coordination:
Coordinating with design and merchandising teams to align material availability with production timelines.
Key Requirements
Experience:
Generally requires 5–15+ years in fabric sourcing or textile manufacturing.
Knowledge &
Skills:
Deep knowledge of textile construction and processing, combined with proficiency in ERP/PLM systems and strong costing skills.
