An Estimator/QS role responsible for creating and managing Bills of Quantities (BOQ), Rate Analysis (RAB), and quantity take-offs for contractor, interior, and furniture projects. The role involves reading technical drawings, calculating material and labour requirements, analysing unit prices, and coordinating with multiple teams to prepare cost estimates for tenders and project proposals.
Key responsibilities
Create and compile BOQ & RAB based on project drawings and specifications
Conduct quantity take-off and calculate material and labour requirements
Read and analyse technical drawings, layouts, and specifications
Perform unit price analysis for contractor, interior, and furniture work
Check material prices and coordinate with vendors/suppliers
Coordinate with Design, Project, Procurement, and Production teams regarding estimation needs
Prepare cost estimates for tenders and project proposals
Revise estimates when there are changes to drawings, design, materials, or specifications
Conduct site surveys/visits to project locations when required
About you
Minimum D3/S1 qualification in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field
8–10 years of experience as an Estimator/QS, particularly in contractor, interior, or furniture sectors
Able to create BOQ, RAB, quantity take-off, and price analysis
Able to read technical drawings and calculate material and labour requirements
Proficient in Microsoft Excel
Knowledge of interior/furniture materials is an advantage
AutoCAD/Sketch Up skills are an advantage
Meticulous, detail-oriented, able to work to targets and deadlines, with strong communication skills
Able to ride a motorcycle and possess a Class C driving licence
