We are seeking a dedicated and experienced University Guidance Counsellor (UGC). Reporting directly to the Principal, the ideal candidate will have a strong background in university counselling, academic advising, and career planning. The UGC will work closely with students from Grade 9 to Grade 12, guiding them through international university application processes while also coordinating SAT testing, career guidance, university visits, and parent and teacher workshops.

As a UGC, you will:

• Provide university guidance and counseling to students, helping them plan academic and career paths.
• Coordinate SAT testing, career guidance, university visits, and workshops for parents and teachers.
• Work closely with heads of academic departments, leadership team, Board of Directors, parents, counselors, admissions personnel, and external tertiary institutions.
• Assist in student engagement and inspire enthusiasm for learning and higher education.
• Commit to ongoing professional development as required.
• Collaborate within a multicultural environment with flexibility, a collaborative approach, and high energy.

• Qualifications:
  
  Bachelor’s degree (required) and Master’s degree (desired) in Education, Counselling, Psychology, or a related field.
• Experience:
  
  Minimum two years as a University Guidance Counsellor, College Counsellor, University Admissions Counsellor, or a similar role. Prior experience in an international school setting preferred.
• Student Engagement:
  Ability to engage with students and inspire enthusiasm for learning and higher education, and motivation towards reaching goals.
• Professional Development:
  Commitment to participate in ongoing professional development as required.
• Multicultural Sensitivity:
  Eagerness to work within a multicultural environment with flexibility, a collaborative approach, and high energy.

  Ability to work with various stakeholders, including heads of academic departments, leadership team, Board of Directors, parents, counselors, admissions personnel, and external tertiary institutions.
• Willingness to work in BSD (40 minutes from Jakarta CBD).

One of the schools currently has over 550 students (across Primary and Secondary) with broad cultural backgrounds, who speak at least 2 or 3 languages. Technology is used as a natural part of learning with a one-to-one laptop program from grade 4 and above, and iPads for younger students. Consistent with the school’s value, strong emphasis is placed on the Chinese culture and language.

Through partnership and co-learning with Peking University, a strong Chinese as a second language curriculum is being developed.

This school is located 40 minutes south-west of the CBD of Jakarta. BSD City is one of the most comfortable and expat-friendly areas in Greater Jakarta because it offers a clean, modern, and well-planned environment with far less traffic and congestion than central Jakarta. The neighbourhood has wide roads, green spaces, international schools, quality hospitals, shopping malls, cafés, gyms, and family-friendly entertainment, making daily life very convenient.
