Automation Support Engineer; m​/f​/x

Components and system solutions from Beckhoff are used in a wide range of sectors and applications worldwide.

We are currently looking for motivated candidates who are passionate about industrial automation and eager to develop their technical skills in PLC, HMI, and motion control applications. This role is suitable for fresh graduates or candidates with up to 2 years of experience who are interested in delivering customer‑specific example programs, technical demonstrations, and application support for Beckhoff automation solutions.

Our team in Indonesia consists of Sales, Marketing and Application Support.

You will report to the Application Manager and focus on the Jakarta region.

• Develop customer‑specific example programs for PLC, HMI, and motion control using Beckhoff automation products.
• Prepare sample programs for short‑term projects based on customer requirements, demo needs, training preparation, or assigned support cases.
• Modify and adapt existing PLC‑HMI‑Motion sample programs according to specific customer application requirements.
• Support customers and internal teams in understanding and applying Beckhoff PLC, HMI, I/O, fieldbus, Ether
  
  CAT, and motion control technologies.
• Provide basic technical support and troubleshooting for assigned hardware and software issues related to PC‑based control systems.
• Assist in testing, commissioning, and validating PLC, HMI, Ether
  
  CAT, and motion control application examples.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, sample code, test records, user guides, and application notes.
• Support standard technical training and product demonstrations by preparing example programs and demo materials.
• Work with senior engineers, Application Engineers, or Product Specialists to resolve technical issues and, when required, to elevate complex cases.
• Maintain accurate records of support activities, project tasks, program versions, test results, and technical solutions.
• Continuously build technical knowledge in IEC 61131‑3 programming, TwinCAT, Ether
  
  CAT, HMI, servo drive, and motion control technologies.

Support customer‑related technical activities on‑site or remotely when required.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics, Instrumentation, Automation, Physics, Engineering Physics, or a related engineering/science field.
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
• 0–2 years of experience in industrial automation, machine automation, system integration, or related fields.
• Basic knowledge of PLC programming and IEC 61131‑3 programming languages is preferred.
• Familiarity with HMI development, motion control, servo drives, distributed I/O, or fieldbus systems such as Ether
  
  CAT is an advantage.
• Basic understanding of electrical schematics and control panel wiring is a plus.
• Knowledge of C#, C++, Visual Basic, Python, object‑oriented programming, or Visual Studio is an added advantage.
• Interest in PC‑based control technology and practical industrial automation applications.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills.
• Good communication skills and willingness to interact with customers.
• Customer‑oriented mindset with a willingness to learn and provide practical technical support.
• Able to work in a team and follow assigned technical direction.
• Willing to travel for customer support, training, testing, commissioning, or project‑related activities when required.
