About the job Geology, Geophysical & Modelling Specialist (Direct Contract - Fixed Term Employee)
Role
Purpose:
Deliver high quality geomodelling to underpin Project and well maturation through the stage gate process and underpin key corporate deliverables and development plans.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Geomodelling through the project maturation lifecycle, delivering high quality inputs to proposals, reserves reporting and project economics.
- Provide clear communication and narrative to underpin development decisions.
- Provide critical geoscience & modelling expertise to support both projects & well proposals through the stage gate process. Successfully interface and integrate with other subsurface disciplines.
- Work within an integrated subsurface team to frame, build and maintain subsurface models, underpinning field development proposals
- Deliver high quality integrated subsurface modelling and analysis, guiding key decisions on field development & drilling plans.
- Ensure all processes are carried out in line with company policies, procedures and regulations and international standards to ensure a safe working environment.
- Immediately report any unsafe conditions or activities, dangerous occurrences or injury in the workplace.
Qualifications include but are not limited to the following:
Education:
- Minimum bachelor's degree in petroleum Geoscience/Earth Science disciplines.
Experience:
- 10+ years of both project phase & operational experience within the Upstream oil & gas industry as a Geoscientist
- Strong End-to-End reservoir characterization capabilities and experience, including petrophysical analysis, structural and geostatistical modelling and uncertainty analysis.
- Experience of working in integrated subsurface teams and initiating/maintaining subsurface models.
- Hands on experience of building subsurface models and managing uncertainty workflows.
- Experience in resource management from volumetric assessment to business planning and reserves reporting.
- Complemented with well planning & drilling experience, having experienced wells through the full life cycle from model to End of well report.
- A
ability to integrate with other disciplines (D&C, reservoir engineering, geoscience)
Technical & Management
Skills:
- Reservoir modelling, from model framing through to end-product
- Able to integrate data across disciplines (drilling data, core data, log data, regional data)
- Fluent in industry standard tools
, primarily expertise in Petrel & plug-ins - Strong seismic interpretation skills, horizon & fault picks, structural & property modelling.
- Able to lead model reviews & manage key stakeholders
- Understanding of reservoir engineering and able to iterate between static and dynamic domains.
- Strong leadership & team management skills
, with the ability to motivate teams and drive performance. - Problem‑solving and decision-making abilities in complex project & operational environments.
- Strong commitment in high standard of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) protocols in offshore projects.
- Strong inter‑personal, communication and presentation skills, able to work in multi‑discipline and multi‑cultural teams.
- Ability mentor and coach junior staff.
