Yellow Hearts is a new Indonesia indie game publisher dedicated to discovering, uplifting, and empowering the next generation of Indonesian game creators. Our mission is to champion original Indonesian game IPs and ideas, bold creative voices, and culturally resonant stories. As a small but ambitious publisher, we aim to become the home for Indonesia’s most promising indie titles—supporting them from prototype to global launch.

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and highly connected Head of Publishing to build and lead Yellow Hearts’ publishing operations from the ground up. This is a senior leadership role for someone who understands the full lifecycle of game publishing, has a strong network across the Indonesian gaming ecosystem, and is passionate about helping indie developers succeed.

You will work directly with the CEO to shape Yellow Hearts’ identity, processes, and long-term publishing roadmap. You will also build and manage a multidisciplinary publishing team while being accountable for the performance of our publishing slate.

Key Responsibilities 1. Publishing Strategy & Portfolio Development
  • Lead Yellow Hearts’ end-to-end publishing strategy including portfolio planning, genre focus, creative positioning, and commercial goals.
  • Develop and oversee execution of marketing strategies to promote and advertise our games
  • Define evaluation frameworks for selecting and signing indie titles.
  • Guide long-term roadmap: slate planning, staggered development timelines, and resource allocation.
  • Lead negotiations with developers, co-publishers, and distribution partners.
  • Represent Yellow Hearts in Indonesia’s game ecosystem: studios, communities, associations (e.g., AGI), government programs, universities, and events.
  • Maintain and expand strong industry relationships with:
    • Local studios and developers
    • Media, press, and gaming platforms
    • Esports organizations, creator networks, and distributors
3. Team Building

You will build, manage and coordinate with a team that will be involved in publishing the game, defining new profiles and hiring team members such as:

  • Producers / PM – who handle developer coordination, milestone tracking, and production pipelines.
  • Business Development Manager – responsible for operational partnerships (QA, porting, localization, platforms).
    PR & Communications – managing media outreach, event planning, interviews, and press strategy.
  • Social Media Manager – driving content strategy across all platforms.
  • Community Manager – managing Discord and player engagement.
  • Creator/KOL Specialist – running influencer campaigns and partnerships.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Set publishing goals and plans, develop publishing strategies, co-ordinate the publishing plan and meet the goals
  • Establishing clear workflows and publishing processes inspired by established industry standards.
  • Setting measurable goals and KPIs for each function.
  • Coaching team members to achieve high-quality execution across launches.
    Scaling the publishing team as Yellow Hearts grows.
  • Own P&L responsibility for publishing projects.
    Forecast revenue scenarios, track performance metrics, and adjust strategy accordingly.
  • Present portfolio updates and performance reports to founders/executive team.
Qualifications
Required
  • 3–5+ years of game publishing experience, ideally with a track record of launching or managing successful game titles.
  • Proven leadership experience, managing cross-functional teams across production, marketing, and business.
  • Strong knowledge of publishing functions, including marketing, production, business development, and digital sales.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage P&L and drive revenue growth.
  • Exceptional leadership skills, with experience managing and scaling teams.
  • Strategic thinker with a track record of fostering innovation and driving successful partnerships.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across departments and with external partners.
  • Passion for video games and an understanding of the gaming landscape, including trends and player behavior.
  • Fluency in English and Bahasa.
Preferred
  • Experience working with indie studios or small creative teams.
  • Strong network within the Indonesian gaming industry, including developers, community leaders, media, and service partners.
  • Proven ability to coordinate with remote teams
  • Passion for supporting Indonesian IPs and creative culture.
