Job Description
As a Quality Assurance Engineer / Data Quality Engineer supporting data operations in Jakarta via Arbeit Group, you will take full operational, tactical, and technical ownership of data quality assurance, ETL testing, and pipeline validation. Your day-to-day responsibilities include creating and executing rigorous test scenarios for data pipelines, performing source-to-target data validation and transformation testing, and conducting comprehensive data quality, integration, regression, and negative testing.
You will validate data flows from upstream systems and pipelines through analytics platforms to downstream consuming systems, perform defect verification, and execute data reconciliation routines. Furthermore, you will collaborate closely with data engineers, architects, and product squads to maintain enterprise data integrity.
- Create and execute comprehensive test scenarios, test cases, and test plans for complex data pipelines.
- Perform rigorous source-to-target data validation, schema verification, and transformation testing.
- Conduct thorough data quality, data integration, regression, and negative testing across data platforms.
- Validate data flows seamlessly from upstream source systems, data pipelines, and analytics platforms down to consuming downstream systems.
- Perform thorough defect verification, root-cause analysis, bug tracking, and detailed data reconciliation.
- Design and maintain automated testing scripts and frameworks to streamline repetitive validation routines.
- Collaborate proactively with data engineers, ETL developers, and enterprise architects to resolve data anomalies.
- Maintain meticulous test documentation, quality metrics reports, and traceability matrices.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional working experience as a QA Engineer, Data QA Engineer, ETL Tester, Data Quality Engineer, or similar technical role.
- Proven practical experience in testing data pipelines, data warehouses (DWH), Data Lakes, and enterprise integration systems.
- Strong, advanced SQL querying skills and robust data validation capabilities.
- Extensive hands-on experience in ETL testing, system integration, regression testing, negative testing, data reconciliation, and defect management.
- Mandatory local Indonesian citizenship and legal eligibility to work in Indonesia (For local Indonesian citizens only).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
- Prior professional experience with test automation tools and scripting languages (Python, Java, or Bash).
- Hands-on familiarity with Big Data processing tools and enterprise streaming frameworks such as Apache Kafka, Talend, Cloudera, or Greenplum.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum data engineering squads.
- Professional certifications in software testing (ISTQB) or database management.
- Familiarity with cloud data platforms (AWS Redshift, Google Big Query, or Azure Synapse).
