Senior Color Technician

Responsibilities

Review/approve colors to ensure the color quality shipping to the customers is up to customers’ expectation on a timely manner.

Provide professional advice and make commercial judgment on marginal situations.

Ensure all bulk fabric is consistent in color and up to customer’s standard.

Keep track of color submissions and progress; monitor and follow through approval within agreed time frame.

Work closely with key print/ dye houses and major dyestuff suppliers to ensure they are working with the most appropriate chemicals and recipes.

Maintain a color production status report on lab dip and bulk status for fabric and trim if needed.

Approve major trim components to ensure color matching is up to standard.

Use spectral data for objective communication and work on instrumental methods of color control and measurement.

Share technical knowledge across teams and customers and proactively look for understanding on different products performance.

Ensure all suppliers clearly understand customer’s requirement.

Train suppliers, Color Technicians and associates in other production countries to adopt the same standard for reviewing & communicating color issues.

• Higher diploma or degree in textile chemistry preferred
• Understanding of the operation in varies dyeing mills
• A good understanding of the operations and application of color spectrophotometry
• 6-8 years practical experience of color development and production
• Ability to interpret customer’s needs and “describe” colors
• Technical background of Textile dyeing and finishing
• Good communication skills and proactive
