Job Description Major Accountabilities Research Planning & ExecutionPlan and conduct qualitative and quantitative user research studies including interviews, contextual inquiry, surveys, and usability tests; recruit and manage participant panels from SLI's agent and advisor populations.

Insight Synthesis & ReportingAnalyze and synthesize research data into clear, actionable insights; produce research reports, journey maps, and persona artifacts that are accessible to both product and business stakeholders.

Usability TestingDesign and facilitate moderated usability tests on prototypes and live features; document findings and collaborate with the UI/UX designer to translate usability issues into design improvements.

Research Repository & Knowledge ManagementMaintain a structured repository of research findings and user insights; ensure institutional knowledge from past studies is accessible and applied to ongoing product decisions.

Research AdvocacyChampion user-centered thinking within the delivery team; educate product and engineering colleagues on research methods and ensure user insights are embedded in sprint planning and backlog prioritization.

Specialized knowledgeList specific types of technical or professional skills and knowledge required for the job.
- Qualitative and quantitative UX research methods: interviews, surveys, usability testing, contextual inquiry, diary studies
- Research analysis and synthesis techniques: affinity mapping, thematic analysis, journey mapping
- Familiarity with research tools:
User Testing, Maze, Lookback, Dovetail, or equivalent - Survey design and statistical literacy for quantitative studies
- Participant recruitment and research ethics protocols
- Ability to communicate research findings clearly to non-research audiences
- Experience conducting research with non-technical or low-digital-literacy user populations is an advantage
- Knowledge of insurance distribution or agent workflows is a strong advantage
