Senior Web Developer

Responsibilities

One of our valued clients based in Malaysia is seeking a Senior Web Developer to design, build, and optimize high-quality websites and e‑commerce platforms across multiple technologies. The ideal candidate will handle a mix of custom‑built websites and platform‑based solutions, and will collaborate closely with design and marketing teams to deliver reliable, performance‑driven web experiences.

• Website Development & Maintenance:
  Develop and maintain responsive, high‑performance websites and web applications. Build and customize e‑commerce platforms (Shopify and non‑Shopify projects). Modify and improve existing websites to enhance UI/UX and functionality.
• Implementation & Optimization:
  Convert UI/UX designs and specifications into functional, scalable solutions. Customize existing templates and build bespoke web components when needed. Optimize websites for performance, SEO, and accessibility.
• Collaboration & Support:
  Collaborate with Project Directors, Designers, and Marketing teams on technical decisions. Provide ongoing technical support and post‑launch improvements.

• Website Development & Maintenance:

• Integration & Technical Execution:
  Integrate third‑party tools, including payment gateways, marketing tools, analytics platforms, APIs, and plugins. Test, debug, and maintain code quality across browsers and devices.
• Collaboration & Support:
  Collaborate with Project Directors, Designers, and Marketing teams on technical decisions. Provide ongoing technical support and post‑launch improvements.

• 4–7+ years of professional experience in web development
• Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (ES6+)
• Experience working with CMS or e‑commerce platforms (Shopify, Framer, Webflow, Word Press, Woo Commerce, or custom builds)
• Solid understanding of responsive design, web performance optimization, and SEO best practices
• Experience with modern front‑end frameworks (React, Vue, or similar)
• Experience integrating third‑party APIs, plugins, and external services
• Strong problem‑solving, debugging, and code‑quality practices
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross‑functional teams
• Familiarity with Git and modern development workflows
• Clear communication skills and a high level of ownership and accountability

• Backend development experience (e.g., Node.js, Python, PHP) for full‑stack capability.
• Specific experience in the company's industry (e.g., e‑commerce, SaaS, marketing agency).
• Expertise in advanced performance tools (e.g., Lighthouse, Web Page Test ).
• Experience with website analytics implementation (e.g., GA4, GTM).
• Knowledge of web security best practices.
• Experience mentoring junior developers or leading technical projects.
