AS​/400 Developer; Mid – Senior

AMK Technology is actively seeking an experienced, high-caliber, and technical AS/400 Developer (Mid to Senior Level) to join our financial services and banking client project team in Jakarta on a full-time onsite contract basis. As an AS/400 Developer supporting core banking and financial services systems in Jakarta via AMK Technology, you will take full operational, tactical, and technical ownership of building, updating, and optimizing core applications on the AS/400 / IBM i environment. Your day-to-day responsibilities include writing robust code using RPGLE, managing complex DB2 database operations, and translating business functional specifications into efficient technical solutions.

You will conduct rigorous unit testing, system debugging, and active issue resolution while providing ongoing operational support and system fixes. Furthermore, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional technical teams, business analysts, and project managers to drive project deliverables on schedule.

• Build, update, optimize, and maintain core financial and banking applications on the AS/400 / IBM i environment.
• Write robust, efficient, and scalable code using RPGLE (RPG IV / ILE) programming standards.
• Manage complex database operations, file definitions, and query optimization using DB2/400.
• Translate business functional specifications and requirements into efficient, high-performance technical solutions.
• Conduct rigorous unit testing, system debugging, and active issue isolation and resolution.
• Provide ongoing operational support, routine maintenance, and emergency system fixes for live production applications.
• Partner proactively with cross-functional technical teams, software engineers, and project leads to drive deliverables on schedule.
• Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, program logic specs, and release notes.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 3 to 7+ years of professional software development experience specializing in AS/400 and IBM i platforms.
• Advanced, proven proficiency in RPGLE programming and strong DB2 database management skills.
• Hands-on professional experience in module creation, routine system upgrades, patching, and bug fixing.
• Strong logical thinking, analytical capability, and systematic troubleshooting skills.
• Solid team player with excellent written and verbal communication capabilities.
• Mandatory Indonesian citizenship and legal eligibility to work in Indonesia (Indonesian Citizens Only).
• Immediate availability or short notice period is highly preferred.

• Professional certifications in IBM i administration or AS/400 programming.
• Prior professional experience working within tier-1 banks, financial services institutions, or fintech enterprises.
• Familiarity with modern modernization tools, APIs, and web services integration with IBM i backends.
• Hands-on experience with CL (Control Language), DDS (Data Definition Specifications), and SQL on AS/400.
• Experience working in agile development environments and utilizing Git version control.
