Operations Manager – Tanker
Role
- Lead and manage daily tanker operations to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective vessel performance
- Oversee voyage planning and execution, ensuring optimal scheduling, turnaround time, and resource utilization
- Monitor operational KPIs including fuel consumption, demurrage, and overall fleet efficiency
- Ensure full compliance with international maritime regulations, charter party requirements, and company policies
- Coordinate closely with commercial, technical, and marine teams to align operational and business objectives
- Manage relationships with external stakeholders including charterers, port agents, and terminals
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs
- Handle operational issues, incidents, and deviations, ensuring timely resolution and reporting
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Maritime Studies, Marine Engineering, Logistics, or a related field
- Minimum 5–10 years of experience in tanker operations or shipping industry
- Strong understanding of tanker operations, chartering terms, and maritime regulations
- Proven experience in managing vessel operations, scheduling, and stakeholder coordination
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken
