Experience at A1MAll members of the Experience practice work on cross‑functional, cross‑organizational teams with policy experts, data specialists, developers, and product managers. A background in policy or data is a plus, but passion for complex problems and commitment to user insight are essential.
About this RoleAs a UX Designer, you’ll collaborate on agile teams to deliver thoughtful design and research that keeps projects focused on what matters. You’ll balance independent work with a willingness to improve team processes and help teammates grow.
Responsibilities- Plan, coordinate, and conduct qualitative and quantitative research that helps teams understand end‑user needs, healthcare provider perspectives, and broader stakeholder interests.
- Produce artifacts—wireframes, sitemaps, mockups, flowcharts, storyboards, user stories, and service blueprints—to guide implementation and delivery.
- Help teams move from analysis to action with clear, concise, and strategic recommendations.
- Build inclusive, respectful partnerships with diverse groups of people.
- 4+ years of relevant professional experience OR a college degree in computer science, cognitive science, psychology, business, HCI, human factors, or a related field.
- Must already have legal authorization to work within the U.S.
- Portfolio or resume demonstrating collaboration with product managers and engineers on agile teams; critical thinking about user research; well‑crafted design deliverables such as wireframes, site maps, flows, journeys, and service blueprints; and experience working with distributed, cross‑functional teams.
- Familiarity with modern web‑based application development processes and tools.
- Exposure to query languages, APIs, and complex data pipelines.
Nice, but not necessary:
- Personal experience with government health and human services programs.
- Working knowledge of Medicare, the ACA, MACRA, Medicaid, or CHIP.
- Experience in eastern standard time working environments and flexibility in hours.
- Active participation in client virtual meetings, including being on camera.
Remuneration and Logistics
- This is a fully remote, full‑time, permanent position.
- Salary range: $95,000 – $120,000.
- Location:
United States (all 50 states, District of Columbia, and U.S. territories). - A1M employees must be U.S. residents and cannot reside in New York state.
