The Rector of the Warsaw University of Live Sciences- SGGW in Warsaw announces a multi‑stage competition for the position of assistant professor in a group of research and teaching staff in the field: social sciences or humanities in discipline sociological sciences at the Institute of Sociological Sciences and Pedagogy in the Department of Sociology.
The candidate applying for the above‑mentioned position must meet the requirements specified in Article 113 of the Act of 20 July 2018 - The Law on Higher Education and Science (consolidated text: Journal of Laws of 2023, item 742, as amended) and in § 89 paragraph 1 item
3) of the University Statute – Annex to Resolution No. 71 - 2024/2025 of the Senate of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences of 31 March 2025 on the draft amendments to the Statute of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences and the draft consolidated text of the Statute of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences.

The candidate is expected to:
- have at least a doctoral degree in the social sciences or humanities in the discipline of sociological sciences (or sociology) and experience in data analysis and processing using research methods used in the social sciences
- authorship or co‑authorship of at least four scientific monographs or chapters in monographs or scientific articles (including at least two in scientific journals) in the field of sociological sciences, which were published in journals or monographs included in the list applicable for the year of their publication (referred to in § 87 sections 1 and 4 of the Statute of SGGW)
- obtaining from scientific activities (over the last 2 calendar years) an average annual number of points awarded for scientific articles, scientific monographs or chapters in scientific monographs that is at least 50% higher than the minimum average annual number of points necessary to obtain a positive assessment of research activities for an academic teacher employed as an assistant, specified in the principles of academic teacher evaluation valid on the date of submitting the application (the minimum average annual number of points necessary to obtain a positive assessment of research activities in the case of an academic teacher employed as an assistant is 80 points)
- a positive opinion of the committee responsible for teaching on the teaching activities conducted, and in the case of persons applying for employment who are not employees of SGGW – obtaining a positive opinion of the committee for a scientific paper presented at a seminar organised in the unit where they are applying for employment
- having documented at least good knowledge of English or another congress language, to a degree that allows independent writing of scientific publications in that language and presenting reports at scientific conferences
- managing or submitting a research project covering scientific research or development work or the implementation of investments related to education and scientific activities, maintenance of scientific and research equipment, research station (SPUB) or special IT equipment (SPUBi), financed in a competitive procedure by foreign institutions or international organisations and by domestic institutions, or obtaining, through the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW), funds for the provision of research services (KZL) on behalf of entities not belonging to the higher education and…
