The Rector of the Warsaw University of Live Sciences- SGGW in Warsaw announces a multi-stage competition for the position of assistant in a group of research and teaching staff in the field: social sciences or humanities in discipline sociological sciences at the Institute of Sociological Sciences and Pedagogy in the Department of Sociology.

The candidate applying for the above-mentioned position must meet the requirements specified in Article 113 of the Act of 20 July 2018 - The Law on Higher Education and Science (consolidated text: Journal of Laws of 2023, item 742, as amended) and in § 89 paragraph 1 item
4) of the University Statute - Annex to Resolution No. 71 - 2024/2025 of the Senate of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences of 31 March 2025 on the draft amendments to the Statute of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences and the draft consolidated text of the Statute of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences.

Skills/Qualifications

The candidate is expected to:

  • at least a master's degree and/or a doctoral degree in the social sciences or humanities in the discipline of sociological sciences (or sociology);
  • demonstrate teaching achievements and/or experience in the application of research methods;
  • demonstrate research and teaching interests and the ability to develop them;
  • demonstrate at least a good command of English or another congressional language, sufficient to independently write scientific publications in that language and present reports at scientific conferences;
  • demonstrate knowledge of Polish to the extent necessary to conduct classes with students in that language.

  • personal questionnaire (form issued by the secretary's office of the Institute of Sociological Sciences and Pedagogy of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences);
  • academic curriculum vitae (resume) and CV;
  • statement confirming compliance with the requirements of Article 113 of the Act on Higher Education (Journal of Laws of 2018, item 1668) – forms issued by the secretary's office of the Institute of Sociological Sciences and Pedagogy of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW);
  • copy of the diploma granting the professional title of master's degree and/or doctoral degree in the field of social sciences or humanities (discipline of sociology or sociology) or other document confirming the professional title of master's degree and/or doctoral degree in the field of social sciences or humanities (discipline of sociology or sociology);
  • a list of academic achievements, including a list of published works and the number of points assigned to each publication, and, if the candidate has teaching experience, a list of academic achievements;
  • a statement from the candidate or a copy of a certificate confirming at least good knowledge of English or another congressional language;
  • the most recent assessment by the committee responsible for teaching (applies to University employees).
