RECTOR
OF MARIA CURIE-SKŁODOWSKA UNIVERISTY IN LUBLIN announces a competition for the position of an Associate Professor in the group of research and teaching staff in the Department of Mathematical Analysis at the Institute of Computer Science and Mathematics, the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science UMCS
The competition may be entered by individuals who meet the requirements specified in the Act on Higher Education and Science of July 20, 2018 (Journal of Laws of 2024, item 1571, as amended) and in the UMCS Statute of May 29, 2019, as amended.
I. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA OF THE COMPETITION:- degree of doctor with habilitation in the discipline of mathematics;
- significant scientific achievements in the discipline of mathematics, in particular a scientific monograph, scientific articles published in prestigious scientific journals, articles in reviewed post-conference materials;
- didactic achievements, including the promotion of diploma theses;
- acting as a supervisor in at least one procedure for awarding a doctoral degree or preparing at least one review in a habilitation or doctoral procedure or obtaining external funds for research or teaching activities;
- documented scientific achievements in the field of complex analysis;
- good knowledge of English in speech and writing;
- very good knowledge of the Polish language in speech and writing.

- a copy of the habilitated doctor’s diploma;
- a list of scientific publications;
- a list of scientific, teaching and organizational achievements;
- a declaration of compliance with the requirements specified in the Act on Higher Education and Science of July 20, 2018 (Journal of Laws of 2024, item 1571, as amended);
- a candidate's declaration that UMCS will be a primary workplace;
- a candidate's declaration that they agree to the processing of personal data in accordance with Article 6 Paragraph 1 Letter a) of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation);
- references, an opinion confirming teaching and research aptitude of the candidate.
- Employment based on an employment contract for a definite period from February 1, 2026, to September 30, 2027 of full-time work in the primary workplace.

The University does not provide housing.
The mere fact of concluding the competition does not result in entering into an employment relationship. The decision about employment is the responsibility of the Rector of the University.
The University reserves the right to close the competition procedure without taking any conclusive decision.
