Electronics Engineer, Electronics Technician
We are seeking a highly skilled and accountable Electronic Production Test Lead. In this role, you will lead a team of Electronic Test Engineers responsible for testing PCB assemblies, sub-assemblies, and optical switches, while acting as a continuous improvement champion for all aspects of production testing and fault finding. You will also support all production test activities, lead root cause investigations, and collaborate with other departments and external partners to resolve issues and prioritize work effectively.
- Lead a team of Test Engineers to test PCB assemblies, sub-assemblies and optical switches
- Act as a continuous improvement champion for all aspects of production test and fault finding
- Support all aspects of production test functional testing, reliability testing, fault finding to component level
- Lead root cause investigations
- Collaborate with other departments to solve complex problems and improve production yields
- Use data collected from process engineering to prioritize the allocation of resources.
- Work with the quality departments and external partners to resolve quality issues from external manufacturers.
- Work closely with electronics engineering team to identify problems which require design changes or further support to resolve the issue identified.
- Have a data driven approach to solving problems and eliminating causes for problems
- HNC qualified in Electronic or Electrical and Electronic Engineering (or equivalent).
- 3-5 years working in a production test environment. Ideally experience in automotive, aerospace or volume manufacture of electronic assemblies.
- Good understanding of digital and analogue electronic measurement and test principles, and fault diagnosis techniques, with demonstrable experience down to component level.
- Awareness of electrical/electronic sub-system and system design, integration and test principles.
- Experience leading a team of test engineers.
- Practical fault finding skills using Oscilloscopes, DMMs and protocal analysers.
- Good verbal and written communication skills, including generation of test specifications, operator instructions and technical reports.
- Experience working on complex PCB Assemblies with `BGA’s, QFPs and multilayer PCB assemblies 4 Layers to >10 Layers.
