Senior Network Engineer – Telecommunications, Transport, and Voice
Poland, On-site
Who We’re Looking ForJaxel is seeking a Senior Network Engineer who bridges the worlds of traditional networking, carrier telecommunications, and modern/legacy voice systems. This is a hybrid role that requires a deep understanding of how voice and video traffic traverse different types of networks.
Responsibilities- Design and implement high-availability voice and transport solutions across hybrid environments.
- Manage telecom circuits and coordinate with carriers for provisioning and troubleshooting.
- Support and optimize Cisco and Avaya voice systems, including call routing and device management.
- Automate configuration and monitoring tasks using scripting and APIs.
- Conduct advanced troubleshooting for voice quality, connectivity, and performance issues.
- Maintain documentation and provide training to global teams.
- In-depth knowledge of Layer 2 and Layer 3 technologies, including VLANs, VTP, Spanning Tree, routing, and switching.
- Expertise in applying QoS policies to ensure voice and video traffic is prioritized.
- Experience with WAN technologies including MPLS and various internet transport methods.
- Proficiency in designing and managing telecom circuits such as SIP trunks and coordinating with carriers.
- Knowledge of physical infrastructure including cabling, racks, and environmental controls.
- Extensive experience with Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM).
- Experience with Cisco Tele Presence and Avaya Communication Manager.
- Deep knowledge of PBX systems and VOIP protocols such as SIP and H.323.
- Experience with cloud‑based voice platforms like Zoom Phone and Vonage.
- Experience with Cisco Contact Center Express (UCCX) or similar platforms like NICE Call Center as a Service.
- Proficiency in Python and Bash for automating network tasks.
- Expertise in using REST APIs for automation and integration.
- Advanced troubleshooting skills for resolving complex issues.
- Project management experience for upgrades, migrations, and deployments.
- Strong documentation skills for system architecture and procedures.
- Experience working with telecom carriers and vendors.
