Content Engineer

Overview

Meltwater, a global software as a service company, is looking to hire a full time Content Engineer to join our Content Support team. Content Support expands and maintains (editorial) content and Media Relations data while focusing on quality, customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.

We are looking for people who are interested in developing their skills in a fast-paced and dynamic workplace, and a positive and solution-oriented attitude is a must-have.

You’ll join a truly enthusiastic team of friendly people and will be working as part of the wider Content Support team across the globe.

Your main responsibility in this position is to continually maintain Meltwater’s content crawling solutions.

All required training will be provided to you in order to master your tasks. It is beneficial if you have a basic understanding of "Web Data Extraction" and its associated challenges.

• Master our internal tooling to update crawler configurations
• Continuous improvement of content quality and expansion of content coverage
• Work with other divisions to help increase customer satisfaction
• Collaborate with engineering teams to improve current and develop future in-house tooling

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
• Strong knowledge of HTML and CSS
• Firm understanding of HTTP (status codes, authentication, etc.)
• Quick learner
• Strong analytical skills and reliability
• Flexible and able to adjust quickly to changes
• Great attention to detail and accuracy in work

• 1-2 years experience in a support role
• Understanding of software engineering processes with complex technical issues
• A passion for learning different technologies
• Demonstrated skill in resolving technical issues
• Excellent professional skills, including effective written and spoken communication skills
• Proven ability to work on multiple tasks at the same time while paying strict attention to details
• Demonstrated strong teamwork ethic
• Basic knowledge of web scraping and the usage of regular expressions and/or XPATH in that context
• You are technical with a customer-first mindset and comfortable with HTML, APIs, log files and solving ambiguous issues
• Excel formula experience a plus - you re comfortable transforming data and manipulating various data types
