Affirm is reinventing credit to make it more honest and friendly, giving consumers the flexibility to buy now and pay later without any hidden fees or compounding interest.

We’re looking for a data‑driven and forward‑thinking professional to join Affirm’s Strategic Finance team. This highly impactful and visible role sits within the Data and Forecasting team—a small but influential team responsible for shaping company‑wide targets, developing predictive models, and delivering real‑time analytics to senior leadership. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in forecasting, statistical modeling, and machine learning
, paired with the ability to translate complex data trends into clear business insights. You should be as comfortable building quantitative models as you are communicating their implications to executives and cross‑functional partners. This role is perfect for someone who’s passionate about uncovering patterns in data to drive smarter strategic and financial decisions.

What you will do
  • Become an end‑to‑end expert in GMV forecasting across affirm’s markets and products; analyze historical performance and predict future outcomes with high accuracy.
  • Design, develop, and deliver scalable forecasting pipelines, dashboards, and analytics for cross‑departmental use (e.g., Client Success, Credit, Merchant Pricing, and Growth Analytics).
  • Support the Finance team in developing automated GMV and transaction forecasts, including merchant‑level projections, and other key financial metrics.
  • Leverage Python, SQL, and machine learning to clean, manipulate, and backtest data, ensuring accurate and reliable forecasting models.
What we look for
  • Strong sense of ownership, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to think creatively and critically in a fast‑paced, dynamic, and often ambiguous environment.
  • High attention to detail while maintaining the ability to see the big picture and evaluate analyses in the context of GMV growth, user behavior, and business strategy
    .
  • 2+ years of experience in analytically‑driven roles (analytics, data science, finance, consulting, etc.), preferably involving forecasting, revenue modeling, or transaction data analysis
    .
  • Strong working knowledge of SQL and Python
    , including:
    • Writing clean, computationally efficient code for forecasting workflows.
    • Using standard Python analysis packages (e.g.,
      Sci Py, Num Py, Pandas
) for data cleaning, manipulation, and model development.
    • Comfortable with production IDEs (e.g., PyCharm, Visual Studio), interactive IDEs (e.g., Databricks, Jupyter), and version control (e.g.,
      git / Git Hub
      ).
  • Familiarity with ML concepts, statistics, and time series analysis
, including backtesting forecasting models to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Experience with DBT or similar data transformation tools is strongly preferred.
  • Experience using BI tools such as Sigma or similar is strongly preferred for dashboarding and reporting GMV forecasts.
  • Passion and drive to disrupt the lending and financial industry for the better.
