DMZ Engineer

Job Description

The Design Engineer is responsible for DMZ network project designs supporting DMZ Services in the client’s environment, such as Internet Hosting, Cloud Integration, Business-to-Business (B2B), Outbound Internet Access, and Remote Access. This position will support various LOB and B2B customers including creation of low-level network designs and solution delivery. The resource should have experience with public Cloud Integration and/or virtualization/Software-Defined Networking (SDN).

• Meet client-specific requirements, ensuring compatibility with their existing IT infrastructure and systems.
• Perform rigorous testing of systems to ensure stability, efficiency, and security before full-scale implementation.
• Provide detailed documentation and standard operating procedures for the client,ensuring they understand the new systems and any changes made.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during the implementation phase,offering timely and effective solutions.
• Coordinate with project managers and other team members to ensure timely and on-budget delivery of implementation projects.
• Evaluate post-implementation system performance, making adjustments as necessary and providing ongoing support and optimization services.

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, business, finance or related field/technical training. Must have strong analytical skills.
• Minimum of 7-10 years’ industry experience required in technology domain.
• Network Design experience with DMZ/Perimeter environments.
• Experience integrating solutions with Cloud provider environments such as MS Azure and AWS and connectivity to cloud hosted SaaS application such as M365.
• Knowledge and/or experience with network virtualization and Software-Defined Networking (SDN).
• Strong routing, switching experience including Cisco, Nexus and Arista with understanding of TCP/IPC networking including BGP, OSPF, Multicast, QOS, IPSEC, ISAKMP, SCEP and SDN a must.
• Experience with scripting languages.
• Hands on experience with Arista router/switching platforms, automation and development of automation scripts and Python experience is a plus.
• Financial services (Insurance, Banking, Investment banking), is a plus.
• Ability to be nimble and flexible; prioritize workload, proactively react to issues and consistently react to shifting deadlines.
• Ability to work weekends (as needed) for migration work.
