The Vice-Rector in charge of the School of Social Sciences at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań announces a competition for one position of assistant professor in the group of research and teaching staff at the Faculty of Law and Administration, in the Department of Civil, Commercial and Insurance Law. The area of scientific research and didactics to be carried out by the person employed as a result of the competition – civil law, including commercial law.

Skills/Qualifications

The competition is open to individuals who meet the requirements specified in Article 113 of the Law on Higher Education and Science of 20 July 2018 (Journal of Laws of 2024, item 1571,Article 113 as amended) and who meet the following requirements:

  • A doctoral degree (PhD) in legal sciences;
  • Excellent knowledge of civil law, including commercial law, documented by scientific publications;
  • Having competence and experience to conduct didactic classes in the field of civil law, including commercial law, at the academic level;
  • Having organisational achievements and in the popularization of scientific knowledge;
  • Authorship/co-authorship of scientific publications in the field of civil law, including commercial law, published in scoring scientific journals/publications;
  • Conference activity;

Experience in teaching at the academic level in the field of teaching civil law, including commercial law

Specific Requirements

Proficiency (at least good command) in at least one of the following languages:
German, French, Spanish, or Italian

Languages POLISH Level Excellent

Languages ENGLISH Level Excellent

Eligibility criteria

Publications of the candidate confirming knowledge of civil law, including commercial law - 10 points

Conference activity - 3 points

Experience in working within research teams - 1 point

Grant activity - 1 point

Experience in teaching at the academic level in the field of teaching civil law, including commercial law - 10 points

Organisational achievements and in the popularization of scientific knowledge - 3 points

A vision of scientific development focused in the area of commercial law (presented in the description of research plans and during the interview) - 10 points

Selection process
  • Competition committee begins working no later than 14 days after the deadline for submission of documents.
  • Formal evaluation of submitted proposals.
  • Call to provide additional or missing documents if necessary.
  • Selection of candidates for the interview stage.
  • Interviews for candidates who meet the formal requirements.
  • The committee has the right to request external reviews of candidates' work or to ask candidates to conduct teaching assignments with an opportunity for student evaluation.
  • The chair of the competition committee announces the results and informs the candidates. This information will include justification with a reference to candidates' strengths and weaknesses. Submitted documents will be sent back to candidates.
