The research position is focused on the development, synthesis, and characterization of advanced nanomaterials with tailored properties for various technological and industrial applications. The successful candidate will participate in experimental and theoretical studies aimed at understanding the physical, chemical, and structural aspects of nanomaterials, including their optoelectronic, thermal, mechanical, and photocatalytic properties.
The project involves interdisciplinary research combining materials chemistry, physics, and engineering. The researcher will be responsible for the design and synthesis of nanostructured systems (such as oxides, composites, or hybrid materials), the use of advanced characterization techniques (e.g., SEM, TEM, XRD, spectroscopy), and the evaluation of their performance in relevant applications such as photocatalysis, energy conversion, or sensor technology.
In addition to laboratory experimentation, the candidate may engage in computational modelling of material properties using density functional theory (DFT) or machine learning algorithms. Such approaches will support the prediction of structure–property relationships and accelerate the identification of materials with optimized functionalities.
Experience in interdisciplinary research environments is an advantage, as the position encourages collaboration with chemists, physicists, engineers, and computational scientists. Fluency in scientific writing and the ability to disseminate research results through high-impact publications and conference presentations will also be expected.
Experience in the formulation and testing of pharmaceutical or cosmetic products, particularly involving nanomaterials as active or functional components, will be considered an important asset. Such knowledge is beneficial for the potential translation of research results into real-world applications and for strengthening collaboration with industrial partners.
