As a Restaurant Waiter/Waitress
, you are the face of Scylla’s hospitality in all food and beverage areas. You provide attentive, friendly, and professional service to ensure guests enjoy exceptional dining experiences onboard. Your teamwork and flexibility support both restaurant operations and guest satisfaction.

• Free food and accommodation on board
• Seasonal work with contracts from March to November renewable each season
• River ships are located in Europe - closer to home
• No Safety certificates or Seaman's book required
• Possibility to take paid days off and vacation during the season

• Some vessels offer free German language courses on board

• Friendly and competent guest service according to Scylla standards.
• Communication with guests to ensure satisfaction and resolve any complaints.
• Taking guests orders for food and drinks in the Restaurant, Bar or Sundeck.
• Serving food and drinks in all departments on the ship (Restaurant, Bar, Room service, Sundeck) in a professional way.
• Knowledge of the menu and all drinks, including wines in compliance to Scylla standard as well as the allergies and any other food sensitivity.
• Silver-tongued, professional and well-groomed appearance.
• Manage a Restaurant station of 45 to 50 guests, together with another Waiter/Waitress or Barkeeper.
• Active sales of drinks in the Restaurant and Bar, including the Sundeck.
• Wine knowledge, bringing wine selections to the guests and pouring drinks for them.
• Providing general guest service, making sure they are enjoying their meals.
• Setup of tables according to company standards as well as polish cutlery and glasses.
• Assistance with the preparation of inventories General cleaning work in the Restaurant and Bar.
• Weekly general cleaning of the Restaurant and Bar.
• etc.

• Experienced within the hotel industry and/or previous (river) cruise ship experience.
• Excellent management, organizational and decision-making skills
• Guest focused
• Strong leadership abilities and organizational skills.
• Able to train crew members, able to build up the trainings and drive the change and look for operational efficiencies across the ship.
• Able to train crew members, detect training needs and develop tailor-made training
• Stress resistant, calm under pressure and resilient
• Team player with positive approach

• Strong social, interpersonal and intercultural competencies
• Professional attitude and appearance
• Reliable and hard-working, physical stamina to stand for a long period of time
• Excellent English skills (written & verbal), other languages like German is an advantage.
• Computer skills (Excel, Word, PPT)
• Age: min. 18 years old
• Non-EU nationals will need D type German visa before joining
