Senior Android Engineer

Svitla Systems Inc. is looking for a Senior Android Engineer for a full-time position (40 hours per week) in Poland. Our client specializes in an advanced automated operation platform that integrates IoT hardware with AI-driven applications. This solution is designed to streamline vehicle tracking, enhance driver safety, ensure compliance, manage maintenance, and optimize spending, among other capabilities. At its core, the platform serves as a robust IoT framework that connects vehicles, equipment, and facilities, enabling seamless data exchange and real‑time insights.

You’lljoin the Fleet Card Team and work on a high‑impact mobile application used in the fleet management space. This role involves delivering end‑to‑end features, from architecture to deployment, in close collaboration with product, design, and backend teams.

The tech stack is a mix of older languages with newer ones (both Java and Kotlin are for Android). The rest of the stack is standard, with MVVM for newer parts of the codebase and MVC for the older parts.

Working hours with overlap till 7 PM CET.

• 5+ years of experience developing Android applications.
• Advanced knowledge of Java and Kotlin.
• Strong knowledge of Android SDK, activity lifecycle, custom views, Retrofit, Dagger 2, reactive programming (RxJava or Kotlin Flow), and local storage/database (e.g., Room, SQLite).
• Experience with Version Control Systems (e.g., Git).
• Hands‑on experience with Bluetooth / BLE integration.
• Proven experience publishing apps to the Google Play Store.

• Experience with Kotlin Multiplatform Mobile (KMM).

• Lead the design and development of new features in a Kotlin‑based Android application.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define, design, and ship new functionality.
• Ensure the app's performance, quality, and responsiveness.
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code.
• Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency.
