Currently, for the new Seargin project we are looking for a Senior Software Engineer (Python & Cloud) to join our dynamic and innovative team of backend developers building an AI Agent Platform. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Python, cloud engineering, and building APIs, including processing of unstructured data.

Project centers on the rapidly evolving realms of Artificial Intelligence (AI), focusing on enabling high‑value AI use cases through fit‑for‑purpose platforms. At its core, the project aims to establish a foundation for a Center of Excellence in AI and GenAI, an innovative hub bringing together leading AI experts. This is a place where best AI practices are shared and new ideas explored, all to reinforce our dedication to fostering innovation and excellence.

With the rapid evolution of GenAI, new solutions that once required customization and development work are now within our reach through our technology partners. With this in mind, our strategy involves using solutions across four key areas:

• Improvement in conversational AI applications, developer productivity and search capabilities based on our (cloud) technology vendors including Sinequa, our preferred enterprise search and knowledge management technology.
• Teaming up with our cloud partners to develop custom solutions for unique use cases.
• Expansion of citizen development through no‑code/low‑code frameworks.
• Leveraging our existing AI workbenches (including Dataiku and AWS Sage Maker, Kamino) for more complex use cases.

• Design and develop scalable and secure APIs and data processing pipelines (e.g. document indexing for RAG solutions)
• Collaborate with cloud engineering teams to deploy and manage solutions on Azure or AWS
• Collaborate with the Roche AI Platform team to integrate with the Platform APIs
• Troubleshoot scaling issues (e.g. serverless applications, API throttling)

• 5+ years of experience in Python software design and development, with expertise in building scalable and secure solutions, including knowledge of async programming and multithreading
• 3+ years of experience in cloud engineering with commercial experience in Azure or AWS
• 3+ years of experience in API development (RESTful/Graph
  
  QL), with expertise in high‑volume request handling (throttling, rate limiting, authentication) and strong knowledge of algorithms and data structures.
• Familiarity with software design patterns and best practices
• Git Lab CI/CD (or ready to learn)
• Familiarity with command‑line interface (CLI) and basic shell commands
• Strong sense of ownership and a proactive approach to new tasks or any issues
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English

• GenAI, agentic frameworks such as Langchain

• AI coding tools (Git Hub Copilot preferred)
