The work

The team’s setup

Our team is distributed across Estonia (Tartu, Tallinn) and Poland operating in the Eastern European time zone (EET/EEST).

• Visual Testing: Chromatic
• Build & CI/CD: Jenkins, Git Hub Actions, Webpack, Vite, Nx
• Backend Context: Go, Elixir and Ruby
• Monitoring: Data Dog, Sentry

Responsibilities

• Architect and lead the development of highly complex, large‑scale front‑end systems, frameworks, and patterns for the entire organisation
• Drive the organisation's front‑end technical vision and strategy, ensuring alignment with long‑term business goals
• Take ultimate ownership of the front‑end development experience, driving disruptive innovation in our tooling, testing strategies, and deployment pipelines
• Identify and solve the most ambiguous and complex technical problems across the engineering group, developing comprehensive risk management strategies for our most critical initiatives
• Act as a key leader for Prism, our design system, by setting its architectural direction and driving the organisational change required for its evolution and adoption
• Serve as a top‑level technical authority and thought leader, mentoring senior engineers and technical leaders across the organisation to raise the bar for technical excellence
• Confidently lead strategic technical discussions, driving alignment and buy‑in across the entire organisation and with executive stakeholders
• Contribute at all levels to the day‑to‑day delivery of projects and maintenance work.

Candidate requirements

• Experience: 8+ years of professional software development experience with deep expertise in front‑end architecture and platform engineering

  Proven experience building tools, frameworks, or large‑scale platforms for developers that have been adopted across an organisation
• Leadership & Ownership: A proven track record of leading critical, cross‑organisational technical initiatives and taking ownership of their strategic outcomes
• System Design: Demonstrable experience designing and building highly scalable and maintainable front‑end systems that span multiple domains, with a systematic, data‑driven approach to solving ambiguous problems
• Communication: Exceptional communication and mentorship skills, with the ability to influence technical direction at all levels of the organisation and the courage to challenge the status quo
• Ambition: A clear ambition to shape the future of technology within the company and provide strategic technical guidance across the organisation.

Nice to have requirements

• Direct experience building or maintaining a design system or a UI library
• Experience building cross‑platform applications with Electron or similar frameworks
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS
• Experience with other languages/technologies like Go, Ruby, Elixir, NodeJS
• Experience with visual regression testing tools (e.g., Chromatic, Percy)
• Experience with UX testing frameworks.
