The Department of Natural Science at the University of Jamestown invites applications for an Assistant or Associate Professor of Chemistry position to begin in August 2026. We are seeking a broadly trained chemist committed to excellence and innovation in undergraduate chemistry education.

Position OverviewThis position will include teaching general chemistry, physical chemistry, and other courses related to the faculty member’s interests and expertise. These could include non‑majors courses, and/or upper‑level courses in inorganic or analytical chemistry. The individual hired will have a student‑centered focus, engage in academic advising of chemistry and biochemistry majors, and participate in faculty service both within the department and in the broader university community.

- Master’s degree in chemistry or a related field
- Passion for excellence in teaching at an undergraduate institution
- Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills
- Doctorate in chemistry or a related field
- Previous higher education teaching experience
- Experience in teaching laboratory courses
