Quality and Infection Prevention Director, RN

Eventide Jamestown is currently seeking a full‑time Quality and Infection Prevention Director. The position will oversee all quality and infection prevention programs, as well as the Clinical Education programs, including new‑hire orientation, required annual education and competencies, and ongoing training.

Key responsibilities include coordinating the Quality Program to ensure consistency with established policies and regulatory direction, collaborating with the Corporate Office, maintaining communications with facility leadership, Medical Director, and Corporate Office, and managing Infection Prevention activities. The role will also conduct infection surveillance, infection control audits, immunization program administration, and collaborate with Human Resources on orientation and training.

Essential Functions
  • Implements quality activities and programs to enhance resident services.
  • Utilizes ongoing evaluation to measure success and influence quality improvement.
  • Collects and analyzes data.
  • Develops reports and recommendations for process improvement using Root Cause Analysis, Rapid Cycle, Lean, and other appropriate methodologies.
  • Reviews and changes the facility QAPI Improvement and management plan to meet standards and board‑approved quality plans.
  • Manages the infection control function for the entire facility.
  • Provides formal and informal Infection Prevention education to support excellent care to residents and staff.
  • Performs infection surveillance and collects data on residents with infections to ensure monitoring of organism, transmission, and antibiotic appropriateness.
  • Identifies trends in outbreaks and reports to the state after discussion with the Medical Director and campus Executive Director.
  • Coordinates and administers the immunization program for all employees in line with state and federal regulations, including influenza, Hepatitis B, and TB testing.
  • Conducts audits to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations regarding infection prevention.
  • Prepares and maintains an active infection prevention program and reports for the state as requested.
  • Monitors employee illness for trends relative to resident illness and implements actions to mitigate impact.
  • Plans, implements, and evaluates educational needs of all employees.
  • Prepares, conducts, and coordinates training programs for all employees and management.
  • Schedules mandatory in‑services.
  • Assists Human Resources with new orientation and implementation.
  • Maintains a positive working relationship with all staff and displays a friendly, outgoing, helpful attitude toward all employees.
  • Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to continually improve department efficiency and services offered.
  • Maintains compliance with company policies and federal and state regulations concerning employment.
  • Rotates weekend and weekly on‑call responsibilities and provides leadership to direct care staff.
Education and Experience
  • Successful completion of an approved Registered Nurse education program.
  • Current Certificate in CPR/BLS.
  • CPR Instructor certification (may be obtained after hire).
  • Experience in Long‑Term Care (preferred).
Certificates, Licenses or Registrations
  • Must have an ND RN License.
  • Must currently be in good standing in all states in which you have ever been licensed as a nurse in the U.S.
  • Current CPR (or approved equivalent) certification.
