Admissions Receptionist
Jamestown Regional Medical Center is looking for an Admissions Receptionist to greet, direct, and attend to patient needs under the supervision of the Admissions Manager.
Job OverviewThis full‑time position works 72 hours every two‑week pay period Monday‑Friday 7:00 am‑3:30 pm with no nights, weekends or holidays.
Key Responsibilities- Acts as receptionist in the lobby area, assisting and directing patients and families.
- Records payments delivered in person and provides receipts.
- Inventory safe each morning and verify log.
- Scans fax sheets, EOBs, and other correspondence.
- Verifies patient insurance information and determines eligibility and primary payer.
- Enters pre‑authorizations for surgery for non‑JRMC provider services.
- Assists supervisor with patient access work queues.
- Completes registration and admissions accurately.
- Assigns guest rooms and keeps room binder stocked.
- Signs out guest room keys.
- Directs deliveries to correct room/area and calls employees.
- May assist with registration process.
- Completes return mail process.
- Distributes newspapers and internal communication.
- Ensures community care folders are full of applications.
- Completes reminder calls as needed.
- Other clerical duties may be assigned.
- Strong telephone skills with customer service required.
- High school level of knowledge preferred; one year clerical experience requested.
- Must attend Crisis Prevention Intervention training in the appropriate timeframe.
- Punctual with regular attendance; prepared to start work on time.
- Good organizational skills and analytical ability.
- Independent judgment required with moderate consequences of errors.
- Social sensitivity and effective communication needed; outgoing and friendly.
- Background check and drug screening required.
- Physical requirements:
