Summary

Assists and provides support to the Human Resources team mainly in the areas of recruitment, orientation and benefits administration.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Distribute daily mail.
  • Schedule and conduct new hire orientation.
  • Organize and maintain applicant pool.
  • Schedule and attend interviews.
  • Open new positions and place employment ads.
  • Responsible for the creation and execution of social media campaigns highlighting the culture of our company and drawing attention to our open positions.
  • Verify and approve monthly HR department invoices including employee insurance invoices.
  • Prepare employee separation notices and related documentation and conduct exit interviews. Record employee termination information.
  • Close positions.
  • Assist with Safety and Wellness programs.
  • Create informative flyers.
  • Assist with company training program - includes researching opportunities - offering to employees - tracking training requests - send evaluations and update employee training documents.
  • Prepare new hire and benefits packets.
  • Maintain inventory of electronic Human Resources documents.
  • Review and update current job descriptions, interview templates, and training schedules.
  • Request and verify purchase orders from purchasing department.
  • Administer address changes - department changes - status changes for all employees.
  • Address employee attendance and timecard issues - including monthly attendance reporting on Personal Time.
  • Compile data and prepare year end reports in regard to recruitment efforts and turnover.
  • Maintain and issue employee recognitions - including purchasing of gift cards.
  • Post company wide announcements and flyers.
  • Create home page announcements.
  • Routine HR visits to production staff.
  • Assistance with compliance issues in the HR department.
  • Assist in company events and lunches.
  • Participate in department meetings and other meetings and seminars.
  • Conduct team lead trainings.
  • Attend job fairs and recruit for open positions.
  • Primary backup for distributing PPE and closing requests when Health and Safety Administrator is absent.
  • Assist with company mailers.
  • Perform miscellaneous office duties (answering phones, coordinating meetings, etc.).
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Human Resource systems;
Internet software;
Inventory software;
Payroll systems;
Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee will regularly lift and move 25 pounds, frequently lift and move 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and move up to 100 pounds. Team lifting or finding a mechanical advantage when possible is preferred for dealing with items over 50 pounds.
