Base pay range

$15.00/hr - $16.00/hr

Summary

Child's First is seeking positive, energetic, professional individuals to fill a full-time Lead Teacher position in our classrooms! Individuals must be lead teacher qualified with preference given to candidates who have recent experience in a licensed childcare setting. Because consistency is key in childcare, we are looking for individuals who are dedicated to working with children and view working with children as a long-term goal.

Patience, a high level of observation, and positive communication skills are highly valued in this position.

Duties
  • Prepare and follow lesson plans
  • Prepare and distribute monthly classroom newsletters
  • Observe and record childhood milestones
  • Complete portfolios for children in care
  • Participate in bi-annual classroom conferences
Requirements

This position requires that candidates have completed high school or equivalency and be 18 years or older.

Candidates must also have completed the certificates for Introduction to the Childcare Profession as well as Skills and Strategies for the Childcare Profession or the equivalent coursework.

Preference may be given to candidates who have previously worked in licensed childcare.

    High school or equivalent (Required)
  • Experience:

    Child Care: 2 years (Required)
  • License/Certification: CPR Certification (Preferred)
  • Lead Teacher Certification (Required)
Benefits

Upon hire, staff will begin receiving holiday pay for the Center's planned holidays off (New Year, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day). After a 90-day probationary period, candidates would qualify for health, vision, and dental insurance plans and paid vacation time. After a year of employment, candidates may qualify for merit increases based on positive performance reviews.
