SHINE Technologies is seeking a CAD Designer who will focus on plant systems, including process systems (piping, pressure vessels, pumps, valves, etc.), HVAC, fire protection, civil/structural systems, cooling systems, electrical distribution, and architectural features. The 3D models will be used for coordination of design and construction activities, including interference identification, seismic evaluations, generation of piping isometrics, and various drawings to support construction and operations.

Base salary: $70,000–$85,000 per year plus a comprehensive compensation package.

• 3D modeling of components, process skids, facility plans (mechanical, fire protection, plumbing, electrical, etc.), and general details from a variety of vendors and CAD/BIM software.
• Creating and modifying Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and 3D plant and system piping in AutoCAD Plant 3D.
• Creating and/or modifying 3D models with associated detailed 2D drawings for structural and architectural design using Revit.
• Developing the design and drafting of complex piping drawings given basic information such as P&IDs, General Arrangements (GA), piping specifications, and equipment arrangement drawings.
• Modifying 3D models (tanks, vessels, and equipment including piping).
• Creating detailed mechanical drawings.
• Conducting site walk-downs of plant systems for As-Built documentation as required.
• Actively working across the engineering organization to identify and resolve design conflicts and update the integrated model accordingly.
• Designing systems to ensure safe, efficient, and effective operation of the facility, equipment, and controls for the production and processing of medical isotopes and fissile solutions.

• Associate degree in engineering or a related discipline with ~3–5 years of recent design experience, or a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline with recent design experience.
• Demonstrated proficiency using AutoCAD (Plant 3D toolset desired) and/or Revit.
• Solid Works experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with drafting and design standards.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to provide design recommendations to other designers and engineers.
• Experience designing systems from the ground up, including responsibility for basic design considerations.
• Relevant experience may substitute for degree requirements.

Eligibility is conditioned on the applicant’s ability to qualify for access to information subject to U.S. Export Controls and, if applicable, meeting Nuclear Regulatory Commission requirements for access to Safeguards Information, which typically requires a pre‑employment drug screen, fingerprinting, and criminal background check.
