OverviewResponds to incoming phone calls, takes and relays messages, performs telephone triage, greets and checks in patients according to registration scripting, collects co‑pays, keeps abreast of vision insurance plans, handles patient charts including documenting care, performs patient assessments, assists physicians, educates patients on contact lens/glass options, orders and dispenses contact lenses and glasses, adjusts and fits glasses, maintains stock, prepares invoices, may work overtime or alternate shifts, works alternate Saturdays, and performs other duties as assigned.
WorkHours / Schedule
- 80 Hours/2 Weeks
- Day Shift, No Weekends, No Holidays
- Will work alternate Saturdays
- High School graduate preferred
- Experience in Optical, Optometry, or Ophthalmic field preferred
- ABO license preferred
- Evaluate prescription in conjunction with client requirements.
- Determine current lens prescription, recommend lenses, coatings, frames.
- Assist client in selecting frames, coordinate measurements.
- Measure lens parameters.
- Prepare work order for grinding lenses.
- Verify finished lenses.
- Adjust frames, instruct clients in care.
- Sell and fit contact lenses.
- Sell optical goods.
- Repair damaged frames.
- Order frames for display.
- Apply coatings to lenses.
- Compute sales amount and collect payment.
The job requires standing, walking, using hands, lifting up to 10 pounds; requires close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
