Job DescriptionBio Life Plasma Services, a subsidiary of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd., is dedicated to collecting high‑quality plasma that becomes life‑changing medicines. The Paramedic – No Overnight Shifts fills the role of Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) and is responsible for ensuring donor safety, eligibility, and quality of plasma collection while supporting center operations and staff health and safety.
Responsibilities- Determine donor eligibility by managing informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE) results.
- Evaluate donor reactions as described in SOPs, provide medical emergency management, and coordinate transport to emergency care when necessary.
- Consult with the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility concerns.
- Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents, determine if occupational health evaluation is required, and follow EHS guidance.
- Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS, supporting investigations related to pandemic threats.
- High school diploma or equivalent, or graduate‑equivalent nursing program with state requirements.
- Current EMT‑Paramedic license/certification in the state where responsibilities are assigned.
- Current CPR and AED certification.
- State‑approved IV therapy certification.
- Completion of FDA‑approved training for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- At least two years of clinical or hospital experience.
Hourly wage $22.04 – $30.31 (based on qualifications, experience, and location).
