Tax Manager

Overview

• Oversee and provide accounting, bookkeeping, and prepared or compiled financial services.
• Review and analyze accounting records and reporting, provide consultation and communicate findings to clients.
• Deliver best‑in‑class customer service with responsiveness, timeliness, professionalism, and accuracy.
• Lead and plan client engagements, continually evaluate processes and identify internal control issues.
• Recommend business and process improvements based on client operations and objectives.
• Manage and build client relationships, act as liaison to resolve client issues, and assist team leaders in researching additional services.
• Effectively delegate and oversee work efforts by setting goals, providing resources, removing obstacles, and scheduling deadlines.
• Maintain current knowledge of local, state, and federal tax practices and laws.
• Assist with managing engagement staffing, billings/collections, and ensure profitability targets are met.
• Utilize entrepreneurial skills to network and build strong internal and external client relationships.
• Invest in professional development individually and through firm‑wide learning programs.
• Support the growth and development of team members through the Baker Tilly Care and Teach philosophy.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting;
  Master’s or advanced degree desirable.
• CPA or JD required.
• Five (5)+ years of experience providing tax compliance, accounting, and advisory services in a professional services firm.
• Two (2)+ years of supervisory experience mentoring and counseling associates.
• Demonstrated management, analytical, organizational, interpersonal, project management, and communication skills.
• Ability to lead and supervise others, provide exceptional client service, and stay current with applicable tax strategies.
• Highly developed software and Microsoft Suite skills.
• Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship preferred.
