Mercyhealth is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our Cardiology team in Janesville, Wisconsin.

• Performs physical examinations, may perform specialty procedures and provide follow up care of the patient.
• Performs preventive health measures within prescribed guidelines and instructions of the physician.
• Explains and provides specialized education to the patient care.
• Provides answers to any questions a patient might have.
• Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient s clinical problems and health care needs.
• Records physical findings, and formulates plan and prognosis, based on patient s condition.
• Credentialed to sedate, circulate and scrub electrophysiology procedures under the direction of the physician, as needed by specialty clinic.
• Discusses and collaborates care of the patient with Physician and other health professionals to prepare comprehensive patient care plan.
• Submits health care plan and goals of individual patients for periodic review and evaluation by physician.
• Prescribes or recommends drugs or other forms of treatment such as physical therapy, inhalation therapy, or related therapeutic procedures.
• Has a high level of decision-making skills and autonomy.
• Refers patients to Physician for consultation or to specialized health resources for treatment.

Graduate of an accredited nursing program. Meets the requirements determined by the State of Wisconsin or Illinois to perform duties defined as those of a Nurse Practitioner.

Certification and Licensure:
Valid APNP license in state of practice;
Valid state RN license in state of practice; DEA authorization as needed;
Approved CPR or BLS certification required within 90 days. Other Certifications per unit requirements: ACLS, PALS, PEARS, NRP.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, handle, finger, feel, talk and hear and use near acuity and color vision. The employee is occasionally required to stoop.

Indirectly supervising the Nursing Staff. Supervisory responsibilities are conducted in accordance with directives of management, the organization s policies, and applicable laws.
