Mortgage Field Services Inspector – FAR INSPECTIONS

FAR Inspections is looking for highly motivated individuals to perform residential occupancy verifications on behalf of mortgage lenders.

Independent contractors earn predictable full‑time or supplemental income and enjoy a flexible schedule. Experience with mortgage field inspections is not required but an ability to effectively manage time and meet deadlines is crucial.

Reno, NV. FAR Inspections has been in business for over nine years.

• Most inspections are exterior only and should take 5–6 minutes.
• Complete the inspection within four days after assignment.
• Report general property conditions and determine occupancy based on industry standards.
• Take nine or more photos with brief comments.
• Complete a short form in a mobile application.
• Spend extended periods driving and making numerous stops during the day within the assigned territory.

• Computer with an internet connection.
• Reliable vehicle (good gas mileage is a plus). You will pay for your own gas.
• Smartphone (Android or iPhone).
• Printer.
• Pass a standard background check with a valid driver’s license.

This is a 1099 position. Each inspection has a flat rate. Rates vary based on county and volume. You will earn the equivalent of $30–$40 per hour.

Depending on the county and whether it is urban or rural you will complete anywhere from 20 to 500 inspections per month working 2 to 30 hours per week. Lower volume counties have higher rates and higher volume counties have lower rates. There is no set amount of inspections per month, but the work is consistent month‑to‑month.

Earn more as you become established, have greater availability to inspect, or are willing to cover a larger territory.

No additional mileage reimbursement above the flat fee per inspection.
