SEND Specialist Tutor (VR/1035224) Jarrow, England

Prospero Teaching are partnered with Local Councils, SEND teams, and schools throughout the UK. We are currently experiencing a high demand for one-to-one and small-group SEND Specialist Tutors who have experience supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in the Jarrow area
.

You may be an experienced tutor, teacher, teaching assistant, or have previous experience working with children and young people in a therapeutic or educational setting. A key part of your role will be to support the pupil's learning and wellbeing, provide structure and routine, and help maintain their educational development while a suitable school or educational placement is identified.

We can accommodate both part-time and full-time hours
, making this a flexible opportunity for tutors looking to make a real difference to the educational journey of young people with SEND in Jarrow

    - Various locations across Jarrow

  • Setting - either within the student's home or in the community (learning hub/library)

    - Until the pupil is able to find a suitable school placement

  • Full-time/part-time availability, ranging from 6-15 hours p/w per student
  • Rate of pay - up to £30 per hour (negotiable)
Your role with us:
  • Deliver one-to-one or small group tuition supporting students with SEND, focusing on building confidence, teaching life skills, how to safely access the community, simple cooking and fostering independence
  • Develop and implement personalised lesson plans that address individual learning gaps.
  • Monitor student progress and provide regular, constructive feedback to students and their families.
  • Create a supportive and motivating learning environment to help students re-build their confidence in learning.
  • Complete daily attendance and weekly reports.
Experience, Training and Qualifications of the SEND Specialist Tutor:
  • Possess UK classroom teaching experience
  • Be creative, patient and willing to think outside of the box
  • Have experience working with students with SEND including ASD, ADHD, GLD and challenging behaviours
To be eligible for this role, the potential SEND Specialist Tutor must:
  • Hold the right to work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBScertificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Be able to reference the last two years of education/employment
