The Grease Man is responsible for greasing and maintaining trucks and equipment to ensure smooth operation, while also assisting with shop tasks, minor repairs, and general upkeep. This position requires a self-motivated individual who can manage time effectively, work as part of a team, and be flexible with work hours and responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities- Grease trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment.
- Check and top off fluid levels as needed.
- Run parts as requested by mechanics or supervisors.
- Perform shop and yard upkeep, including cleaning, organizing, and taking out trash.
- Steam clean trucks and equipment, including engines and cooling systems.
- Replace grease fittings and hoses, and free up fittings not taking grease.
- Report any damage or issues with trucks and equipment promptly.
- Assist mechanics and PM techs with repairs and preventive maintenance.
- Perform minor mechanical repairs as directed.
- Complete necessary paperwork, coding, and documentation accurately.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in minor mechanical work (preferred).
- Valid driver’s license required.
- CDL license a plus, but not required.
- Hand tools a plus, but not required.
- Reliable transportation to and from work.
- Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Team-oriented with good communication skills.
- Willingness to work overtime and flexible hours as needed.
- Ability to adapt to changing tasks and priorities.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working in outdoor environments and around heavy equipment.
- Ability to stand, bend, and work on equipment for extended periods.
