Senior Technician, Facility Services, HVAC​/Refrigeration

• 3 years’ experience in HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration.
• 6 years’ experience in HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration and Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.
• Hold and maintain Type I and Type II or Universal Environmental Protection Agency certification for refrigerant handling.
• Where required, HVAC-R/ Mechanical Journeyman.
• 1 year’s experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area or 2 years’ Walmart store experience.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
• Ability to read and speak the English language as required by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.

• Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years.
• Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years.
• Completion of a 2-year technical/vocational HVAC/R program or 2-year associate’s of applied science A/C and refrigeration.
• Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (for example, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
• No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
• Prior work experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Prior work experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
• Prior work experience with Glycol and C02 systems.

Position Summary... What you'll do... Oversees installation and commissioning of HVAC/R systems, including ductwork, control panels, and building pneumatics. Leads diagnostics and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant issues across commercial and industrial systems. Implements and monitors preventive maintenance programs to extend equipment life and reduce downtimes. Manages rack systems, walk-ins, reach-ins, and supermarket refrigeration units, ensuring optimal performance and compliance.

Uses heavy machinery. Submits required written and electronic information (for example, expense vouchers, weekly summaries, work orders, maintenance logs). Enters detailed notes in work orders, including before and after photos. Ensures adherence to OSHA standards and EPA refrigerant handling protocols by supervising field practices and documentation. Conducts inspections and repairs in accordance with federal, state, and local HVAC/R codes, including indoor air quality and cold chain requirements.

Reclaims ozone-depleting refrigerants and maintains compliance with environmental guidelines. Leads HVAC/R field teams by coordinating work assignments, mentoring less-experienced Technicians, and managing escalated service…
