Parent Peer Support Specialist

This position will have job duties that include working with parents of teens and children enrolled in our organization's clinical services. You will work closely with the parents of the child's clinical team leader to implement the treatment process. Must have personal experience ( I have lived experience ) as a parent whose child received mental health services or child welfare and be able to appropriately disclose and share that experience with the parents of teens and children up to the age of 21 years, in order to foster hope, build resiliency, and develop self-advocacy skills that will empower them to achieve their goals.

• Must be a parent/primary caregiver with personal experience ( I have lived experience ) who has raised or is raising a child with emotional, behavioral, physical, or mental health or substance abuse needs whose child has received mental health services.
• Minimum of a High School Diploma, High School Transcripts, or GED/High School Equivalency Certificate.
• A current/valid non-expired driver's license; be a minimum age of 21; and have an insurable driving record.
• Knowledge of computer software and programs, Word, Excel, Outlook and typing.
• Employment requires a 5 day paid orientation held in Marion County, AL, Monday-Friday, 8:30a-4p.

• Full-time Monday through Friday (schedule will be discussed at interview).
• Part-time position is also available; the schedule would be discussed further during the interview.
