Description

The Assistant Category Manager position focusing on our 4X4;
Jeep;
Off Road; and Suspension Division;
Wheel, and Tire Division; or Commercial, Fleet, Snow and Ice Equipment Division is responsible providing your client with customer focused insights regarding the product and category. Creating and developing a long-term plan and strategy for development of the category.

Education/Certification(s)
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent of years in experience
Experience
  • Job related experience within specialized field with increasing levels of responsibility is required.
  • Training - Minimum of one month on the job training required.
Requirements
  • Solid knowledge of category management, marketing and sales principles
  • Knowledge of one or more categories: 4X4;
    Jeep;
    Off Road;
    Suspension;
    Wheel, and Tire;
    Commercial;
    Fleet; or Snow and Ice Equipment
  • Knowledge of CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • An ability to understand and analyze sales performance metrics
  • Solid customer service attitude with excellent negotiation skills
  • Strong communication and team management skills
  • Analytical skills with a problem‑solving attitude

Job Duties
  • Analyze data or insights to determine industry and consumer trends
  • Devise long-term development strategies for product categories
  • Develop exit strategies for unsuccessful products
  • Foster trust relationships with vendors to achieve better pricing and quality of services
  • Place appropriate orders to ensure product availability that meets consumer demands
  • Determine the positioning of a product category to maximize visibility
  • Liaise with marketing teams to determine competitive pricing and promotional activities of a product category
  • Collaborate with buyers and merchandisers to expand product categories
  • Make forecasts for product demand to ensure the sustainability of inventory
  • Assume responsibility of budget development and revenue for category
  • Assist Category Manager in selecting, pricing and positioning of category products
